hey kids
i'm looking for a braided wreath bread recipe to make for christmas, something with cinnamon and nutmeg tucked inside like in a cinamon bun. anyone got any good, tried and true recipes? my bread book came up empty (i hate candied fruit - doesn't everyone?).
so, fire away!

I imagine it would be excellent with brown sugar, raisins, and spices inside.

NO! LOL
Good candied fruit (glaze' fruit) is wonderful... I make some of my own, I do cherries, citris, figs, peaches, apricots, and pineapple. The secret is getting the stuff imported from Europe. The stuff you buy in a grocery store is pure garbage. You might do a Google search under Swedish Cardamom bread...

Re: NO! LOL
That's because you've never eaten the best... it comes from England and France. There were a few stores in the USA that may still carry it, but since moving to the west coast I can't find a good source, so I learned to make my own. Really good Gaze' fruit is really wonderful.November 26 2005, 14:15:02 UTC 6 years ago
